Miners Up ‘til Dawn
Missouri S&T students’ year-long fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital culminated with Up ‘til Dawn, an all-night event for students that took place on Friday, April 26. In its third year, the student-organized event has raised more than $55,000 for the hospital to-date. This year’s goal was $30,000.
A lesson overseas
Many college students take their first trips outside the United States to destinations like Cancun, Mexico, or Nassau, Bahamas. But two S&T students spent a month this summer in China as part of an intensive cultural program.
From doll shoes to rabbit bones …
This summer, eight undergraduate students from across the country have come to S&T for a solid research experience in additive manufacturing, a technique that constructs components in layers. The method can create complex 3-D shapes and produces far less scrap than conventional methods.
